Snot Lent Day 12
My children are sick. A river of snot runs out our house and onto the recently mown lawn. We deal in Calpol and Echinacea like dealers trying to stretch the hysteria until the next fix. A new battery makes our thermometer glow with vigor and we watch the mercury like prisoners watch the death row clock.
From bedrooms children bark at unspeakable hours of the night and the mechanisms of nebulizers jump into action. Tense negotiations between 'Wild Kratts' and 'Peppa Pig' are managed but they always seem to end in tears. Tempers flair as children use scatter cushions, carpets and my clothes as tissues.
My children are sick. Inspiration runs low.
